Brain Therapies

Neuro developmental disorders are impairments of the growth and development of the brain or central nervous system. A narrower use of the term refers to a disorder of brain function that affects emotion, learning ability, self-control and memory and that unfolds as the individual grows. The term is sometimes erroneously used as an exclusive synonym for autism spectrum disorder.Disorders considered neuro developmental in origin, or that have neuro developmental consequences when they occur in infancy and childhood. Affects people of all ages & up to 30% of the population. To name a few-
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders such as Asperger syndrome
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
  • Down syndrome
  • Down syndrome
  • Oculo-motor Abnormalities (Strabismus, Dyslexia, etc)
  • Asthma and Severe Allergies (Foods, Inhalants, Chemicals)
  • Migraine, Headache
  • Post Concussion Syndrome
  • Communication, speech and language disorders
  • Motor disorders including developmental coordination disorder, stereotypic movement disorder and the
  • Tic disorders including Tourette syndrome.
  • Traumatic brain injury (including congenital injuries such as those that cause cerebral palsy).
  • Genetic disorders, such as fragile-X syndrome and many more.

The term neurodegeneration is a combination of two words - "neuro" referring to nerve cells and "degeneration" referring to progressive damage. The term "neurodegeneration" can be applied to several conditions that result in the loss of nerve structure and function.
This deterioration gradually causes a loss of cognitive abilities such as memory and decision making. Neurodegeneration is a key aspect of a large number of diseases that come under the umbrella of "neurodegenerative diseases." Of these hundreds of different disorders, so far attention has been mainly focused on only a handful, with the most notable being Parkinson's disease, Huntington disease and Alzheimer's disease. A large proportion of the less publicized diseases have essentially been ignored.
All of these conditions lead to progressive brain damage and neurodegeneration. Although all three of the diseases manifest with different clinical features, the disease processes at the cellular level appear to be similar. For example, Parkinson's disease affects the basal ganglia of the brain, depleting it of dopamine. This leads to stiffness, rigidity and tremors in the major muscles of the body, typical features of the disease. In Alzheimer's disease, there are deposits of tiny protein plaques that damage different parts of the brain and lead to progressive loss of memory. Huntington's disease is a progressive genetic disorder that affects major muscles of the body leading to severe motor restriction and eventually death. The following is the list of some of the Neuro Degenerative Disorders-
  • Alzheimer's Dementia
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Parkinsonism
  • Adult ADD
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Depression
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Vertigo, Dizziness, Imbalance
  • Communication, speech and language disorders
  • Chronic Fatigue and Restless Legs Syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain, Neuralgias, Neuropathies.
  • Auto-Immune Disorders (Lupus, Rheumatoid, Hashimoto)
  • Chronic Immune Dysfunctions (Lyme, Yeast, Viral, etc).
  • Macular Degeneration/Acute Visual Loss.

Causes
Only an extremely small proportion (less than 5%) of neurodegenerative diseases are caused by genetic mutations. The remainder are thought to be caused by the following:
A build up of toxic proteins in the brain
A loss of mitochondrial function that leads to the creation of neurotoxic molecules
Although the cause may vary, experts generally agree that the result is promotion of apoptosis or programmed cell death, which is deliberate suicide of the cell for the purpose of protecting other nearby neurons from toxic substances.

Now the key question is-
Is there any possibility of improvement of NDDs except the medication?
Yes. Our team of experts including Clinical, Neuro and Counseling Psychologists have made it possible. We use Technology Based Therapy with Well-Being approach of the client. The therapy and methods are scientifically proven, well researched, evidence based, non invasive , no medication free from any side effects and universally accepted. We just expect co-operation from the client and the family.
